Clinical Pilates for New Mums (Postnatal)
Our postnatal Clinical Pilates programs are for women who have recently given birth and want to focus on rehabilitating their post-pregnancy body.
We understand in the early stages post-birth it can be a difficult time to meet your exercise needs. However this is the crucial time to strengthen your pelvic floor and related muscles, as well as gently allow your body to return to its pre-pregnancy shape. Our classes also help you to physically cope with the demands of a new baby and prevent lower back pain and injury.
Clinical Pilates is a safe and social way to return to exercising post-partum.
To join our class, we first need you to have an Initial Assessment so we can create a personalised program for you, based on your medical history, needs and goals. Your Physiotherapist will also show you how to use the equipment and ensure you are doing the correct techniques in a safe and comfortable way. Following this, you can join any of our Clinical Pilates classes or if you prefer to bring bub, come to out New Mums group classes.
Benefits you can expect:
- prevention of back, neck and shoulder pain
- improved balance, strength and posture
- strong muscles that you need to for lifting/nursing newborns and toddlers
- improved pelvic floor and deep abdominal muscle strength
We have classes you can bring your new bub along to – please see our calendar on the homepage or call us on (08) 6389 2947. Alternatively, if you can get some time without bub, you can join any class following your initial assessment, as all clients still have a personalised program as part of the class.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us on (08) 6389 2947 or to get started, simply book an initial consultation online now.
