Pre & Post Pregnancy Pilates
Planning to get pregnant, already pregnant or recently had a baby?
Clinical Pilates is a fantastic way to keep fit and strong throughout your pregnancy as well as improve your labour and recovery post-birth.
It helps to prevent common pregnancy complaints such as hip and back pain and can assist the abdominal muscles regain their original strength and function after birth.
To look after your little one, you need to first look after yourself.
For best results, it’s best to start Clinical Pilates before you are pregnant or soon following, however we can tailor a program for you no matter what stage you are at and you will soon feel the benefits.
Your Physiotherapist will adjust your Pregnancy Pilates program to account for your varying needs throughout the trimesters and again (when you feel ready) early postnatal to ensure you a focusing on the right muscles in a safe and effective way.
In addition to the above benefits, you can also expect:
- prevention of lower back & hip pain
- improved balance, strength and posture
- strong muscles that you need to use for pregnancy, labour and newborns
- improved recovery time post-birth
- pelvic floor and deep abdominal muscle strength
You are welcome to join one of our semi-private sessions (groups of up to 4 people) as all clients receive an individual program, alternatively private sessions can be arranged – and may be booked anytime and easily online.
It is a good idea to check with your GP before commencing any exercise program.
About six week’s following birth, if you would like to bring your newborn along with you, we also have a class just for ‘New Mums‘.
